Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Lath Khleath

Lath Khleath is a 7-year-old student in 1st grade at The Ascham School community, in Putang village, Romnea commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.

Lath Khleath has one brother. She is the first child in the family. Her parents are farmers who own one hectare of farmland. They grow cassavas and bananas but they didn’t make any profit and lost a lot of money this year because the price of cassavas has been decreased. In order to have three meals per day for her children, her parents work as a seasonal worker and they earns about $5 per day, but it is not a permanent income of this family. Khleath has to help her mother to do housework.
