Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Thoeurn Saylong

Thoeurn Saylong is 18 years old student in 11th grade at The ASIJ School which is located in Chup Krom village, Svay Leu commune, Svay Leu district, and Siem Reap province.

Saylong has gotten five members in the family. She has two older brothers and she is the youngest child in the family. Her parents have one hectare of farmland for transplanting rice and get 2 tones of rice per year. Also, her family is raising chickens and a pig. After harvesting, her parents sold some rice to payback to the fertilizers shop. Otherwise, they got little income from selling rice but it still was inadequate to afford the needs such as clothes, uniforms and school supplies etc.
