Nippon Foundation School

Chheng Kimseng is also a sixth grade student at the Kompong Chamlong Nippon Foundation School.
He was ranked first in his class.

On himself: I am fourteen years old. Both of my parents are farmers. I have one sister and three brothers. My sister is the fourth grade teacher at this school. I walk for ten minutes to get to school every day.

On the new building: It is much easier to learn in the new building, because it made of concrete and it is cool. In the old wooden building it was very hot. I am happy for the chance to study in the new, concrete building.

On his study: At school, I am good in geography. I like it because we have a map that shows the location of all the villages and their names. It is easier to study than the other subjects in the school’s curriculum. I am weak in mathematics. I don’t understand it as clearly when the teacher teaches it. I think it is difficult to learn, especially geometry.”

On his spare time: My parents have a small business servicing calls over the radio. I help them with the business when they are away, or I take care of my younger brother.

Hobbies: I like playing volleyball and soccer.
