Mr. Chor is the school director of The Kuniko-Uchida School. He is 38 years old. Like most school directors in Cambodia, he is also a teacher in the school.

on the new school: “I am very happy with the new school because it keeps everything inside safe.”

 

on his past: “I have been the school director for 11 years, and before that I was a teacher here for 11 years. I was here during the Khmer Rouge regime, and I become a teacher because I love this job.”

 

on the worst aspect of his job: “The most difficult thing about my job is my low salary. It is not enough to support my family.”

 

on his students’ favorite subjects: “The students like studying all of the subjects because they want to learn these subjects to move up to the next grade.”

 

on the future of Cambodia: “I think Cambodia is growing up because we now have political parties. Step by step, we are becoming a democracy.”
