A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Moeurn Nary was born on 30, January, 2006 in Popul Village, Svay Chek Commune, Romdoul District, Svay Rieng province. She is in the 7thgrade at The Svay Chek Secondary School, which is located in Anlong Spean village, Svay Chek Commune, Romdoul District, Svay Rieng province.

Nary has 3 siblings, and she is the Second child in the family. Her father’s name is Mr. Moeurn Chea and her mother’s name Mrs. Mul Saran, both of them are farmers. The family owns one hectare of farm land; they can earn up to $350 a year in rice production. As this is not enough to support the family’s needs, Nary’s father commonly has to work for other. He has to carry the sack of cement. One day they can earn $5 or $6. This means, that even with this additional income, the parents do not have enough money to support the family and their children’s everyday needs. As a result, Nary commonly has to miss school to stay home and help to care for her siblings or help in the rice field and other housework.

Nary’s goal wanted to be a teacher; she thinks that become a teacher could help her family to improve.
