Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Naem Syneth is a 15-year-old student in the 8th grade at the Cambodia Hope School in Melum village, Melum commune, Baribour district, Kampong Chhnang province.

Syneth is the eldest in her family and has one younger sister. Her father’s name is Naem Sovan and her mother’s name is Phan Chan. They are farmers. The family has owns half hectare of farmland in which they can produce 600Kg of rice a year, which is not enough to support the family. Additionally, Syneth’s father sells sugar cane earning 20,000 riel per day for support his family living.

When Syneth is not busy studying, she can be found helping with household chores such as cleaning or cooking. Syneth is a very hardworking, determined student, and loves school.

In the future Channeth wants to become a doctor because she wants to help the poor citizens of her community.
