Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Han is 16 years old the student in 8th grade at The Nozomi School # 348 donated by David Sneider and Naomi Pollock Family. Located: Khchass Village, Khchass Commune, Saut Nikum District and Siem Reap Province.

Han is the second child in the family, with one older sister and one younger brother and stay with grandparents. Her parents are farmer who own 0.10 hectares of farmland for transplanting rice and her farmland depend on nature raining only. Her parents can gather 5 sacks of rice production and quantity of one sack of rice is about 70 – 80 kilogram. After gathering rice is completely finished her parents work as a worker for villager and can earn 3 dollars per day but someday only. Sometime their have no income. Han is a good student. After school, she goes home to help her parents with house work and look after her brother. In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school and help mother to cook meal for her family and look after her brother.

Han wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She wants to help all the kids to come up in the future and she wants to earn money to support her family to be better in the future.
