Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Un Siengly is 13 years old, and she is in grade 8 at Donduong Secondary School, and she lives in Yeaytieng village, Balang Commune, Baray District and Kampong Thom Province.

Un Siengly has two sisters and she is the eldest child in the family. Her parents are farmers, owning half hectare of farmland. The family is able to collect maybe 11 sacks of rice per this year, because the rice didn’t get enough form rain and rice not good like this, and Siengly’s parents they are very difficult and sad, because they didn’t have enough food for eat in this year, and they try to others jobs such as: construction worker in their district for money. They get around 20000riels per day from their work but it is not every day, Siengly’s parents are very poor. She gets 1000riels a day for her studies and rides her bike to school every day. Siengly is a hard work and she always a good student in class. After school she responsible to help her parents with housework and look after her little sister.

Siengly’s goal wants to be a teacher because she wants to share knowledge and education to the students in her community as well as to help other people and she wants to support her family.
