Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Vil Sman

Vil Sman is a 14 years-old, student in 7th grade at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School in Romduol village,Varin commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province.Cambodia.

There are six members in the family, parents, one brother, and three sisters including her. She is second child in family. Father’s name Loeurn Vil and Mother’s name Moeurk Rom. Her parents are farmers, Owning two hectare of farmland for growing the rice. The family is able to collect 2 or 3 Tons of rice per year to provide the family with food. During the dry season her family goes for hunting the potatoes they get $5.50 in per day. Her family has 2 cows, 10 chickens in the field. Now she lives with her siblings at Toul Romeat Village, Varin Commune, Varin District, Siem Reap province, Because her parents goes to sleeps at the field for harvesting potatoes one month to visit once.

She has to do housework every day and take care of her siblings and she goes to school too. Sman really likes mathematics very much and she always gets a high score in the class of math subject.

In the future, Sman wants to be a math teacher because she wants to share knowledge and education to the students in her village and she wants to earn an income that can support her family to live in a better life.
