Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Yeav Chantha is 16 years old. She lives in Srabal Village, Phnom Penh Commune, Kulen District, Preah Vihear Province. She is in grade 11th.

She has 5 siblings, 2 brothers and 3 sisters including her. Her mother, Sien Yeav, 47 and her mother, 46 are farmers. Moreover, she has only 3 hectares of land farm and her family earns around 200 thousand Riels ($50) per month equals 6000 Riels per day (600 Dollars in a year). Nowadays, her parents have a debt in a bank and they have to pay to the bank every month. Moreover, her younger brother has stopped studying since he was in grade 5th because her has to earn to support family. In addition, she always ride a bike to school about 8 to 9 kilometers.

In the future, she wants to be a teacher, because she thinks that she can get a higher salary to help her family. Especially, she hopes that she can develop the people in the countryside to be good human resources and make them success in their lives.
