The Pramath Dey Nippon

Foundation School

Soy Hou is a sixth grade student at the Pramath Dey Nippon Foundation School.
Out of the twenty-four students in his class, he was ranked number thirteen.

On himself: I am fourteen years old. I am the oldest of six siblings. Five of them are also in this school. Our house is ten minutes away from the school. My parents used to raise fish. Now they’ve gone to buy a car in order to transport the fish.

On the new building: I am very happy with the new school building, because it is made of concrete. It makes it easy for me to study in. I have enough materials, like desks, blackboard, and decorations. At the old school it was very difficult to study. When it rained, the water would leak through the roof.

Favorite subject: Khmer literature.

On his spare time: I help my parents with their work. I carry water to put in the water jar, watch over the cows, clean the trash under our house, and chop wood.

After primary school: I want to continue to study at secondary school. Then I want to become a teacher, because it’s not that serious of a job. It’s very easy. If I could do anything, I would be a businessman.
