The Aeon Mango School

Mrs. Yim Meun is a villager living 2km away from the Aeon Mango School.   (July, 2001)

In Their Own Words. . .

On her family: “I have three children, but none ever went to school.  They are all too old to go to school now.  My husband died in 1970 because of a disease like AIDS, which I have, too.  One of my daughters and her husband are living with me.  She is 25 and has one child.  My granddaughter is still an infant, but she will go to the Aeon Mango School when she is older.”

On the new building:  “I am happy that my granddaughter will be able to learn at this good school.  She will also have the chance to get English and computer skills.  The other children in the village have a great chance to learn, too.”

On education:  “I think that having this new school, and people who know English and computers here will be good for the village in the future.  These kids have the chance for a much better future than before because the new building does not flood during the rainy season, and they can learn how to use these new things.”

Message for donor: “I would like to thank the Aeon Group very much and wish them good luck and happiness in their lives.”
