Seun Srey Mom is a 13-year-old fifth grade student. She is number six among her 42 classmates. She has one brother and four sisters in a farming family. They live in the village next to the school village. Her house is 3.5 km from the school. She rides a bicycle to school every day.

“I am very happy studying at the new school because there are many children in the new school.”

“I like to study Khmer language because I am good at reading and writing. I always get a good score in the exam. But I am weak in the subject of mathematics, because I do badly in calculation, especially division.”

“When I grow up, I want to be a nurse or doctor because there is no doctor in my village. When some villagers are ill they must go to see the doctor at the district town, about 20 km away from my village.”
