Chem Ratanak is 15-year-old student in the 9th grade at The Bellingham Community School. He has two sisters and one brother. He is the family’s second son. His mother is working with MAG, but his father has died. His house is about two kilometers from school and he comes to school on a bicycle.

“I like to study in the new concrete school building, because before the village had no school. I started studying in this school in 2005. I rank number 5 among the 26 students in my class,” he said

“I like to study English because most people in Cambodia are studying English and it is an international language,” Chem Ratanak said “I want to be a teacher when I grow up because I want to share my knowledge with the next generation,” he added.
