Kun Srey Peou is thirteen years old. She is a fourth grade student at the school. In her class, she was ranked first out of twenty-eight students. Both of Srey Peou’s parents are farmers. In her family she has five brothers and six sisters. She is the ninth child, and three of her siblings also attend the school. They walk to school every day. It takes about ten minutes.

On the new building: “I am very happy about the new building. It is so nice. If I had to go back to the old school, I don’t think I would want to study anymore.”

On her classes: “Khmer is my favorite, because it is Cambodian. It is important to know your own language.”

On her future plans: “I want to be a teacher. I want all the children in Cambodia to study, like me.”

If she could do anything: “I wish to serve my parents.”

On her spare time: “I don’t really play in my spare time. At home, I like to help my parents with the housework, especially cooking.”

Message to the donor: “I want to thank him for the opportunity he has given me and the younger generation.”
