The Kome Hyappyo School (100 Sacks of Rice)

Sei Mai lives near the Kome Hyappyo School.  She has two grandchildren studying there. (August, 2001)

Grandmother Sei Mai is 60-years-old. She has nine children and has lived in this village since she was born. Two of her granddaughters and grandsons come to learn at this new school.

In Their Own Words

On the new building: “I like the school because my grandsons and granddaughters attend this school.  It is near my home, and I think they will learn well there.”

On development and education: “The school will not raise the living condition of the villagers quickly, but it will provide the children in the village with knowledge for the future.”
