Meas Sopha, 12 years old, is a fourth grade student at The Rattanak Sophorn Nippon Foundation School.  She was ranked 31st among the 40 students in her class.  Her sister is in third grade at the same school.  Her father passed away and her mother is a farmer.  She walks the 500 m from her home to go to school.

In Their Own Words. .

On the new building: “I like to come to school because school can provide knowledge.  I like this new school building because it is easier to study in than the old building.”

On school subjects:  “I like learning Khmer because it is easy to understand.  I don’t like mathematics or social science because they are very difficult.”

On her hobbies: “In my free time, I read and take care of my younger sister.  When I meet my friends, I like to draw pictures.”

On her future: “I want to be a teacher because teachers can share their knowledge with future generations.”

Message for the donor: “I thank The Nippon Foundation very much.”
