The Sam Seb Nippon

Foundation School

Mr. Pien Chin lives in the village where the Sam Seb Nippon Foundation School is located.

On himself: I am thirty-five years old. I am married and have five children. Three of them study at the [Sam Seb Nippon Foundation School]. My family owns five hectares of corn and soybean fields. I farm to support the family.

On his community: Before all the villagers came to live here, this place was a forest. The biggest income in this village is from agricultural products, such as corn and soybean. In my village, we can plant crops twice a year. At beginning of the year, we grow corn and at the end of the year, we grow soybean. I think that our district is one of the three biggest corn and soybean growers in the province.

On the new building:

The new school is more comfortable than the old one. We are very, very happy with the new school because we could never raise enough money in our village to build such a concrete school by ourselves.
