The Trabek Nippon Foundation School

(August, 2001)

Mrs. Pieh Chin is a farmer living near the Trabek Nippon Foundation School.

In Their Own Words . . .

On the new building: “I think that having the new building helps the village because more children can go to school.  I am very happy that we have it here.”

On the Pol Pot time: “I have lived in this village my whole life.  My husband passed away during the fighting after the Pol Pot time.  I’m not sure which side he was fighting for, but he did die during the fighting.  During the Pol Pot time, people were brutal and life was difficult.  Now it’s much better.  NGOs are doing much to improve our lives.”

Message for the Nippon Foundation: “Although the members of the Nippon Foundation live far away, they are still willing to help.  Thank you very much for making us happy.”
