Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kanha is 15 years old the student in 8th grade at The Nozomi School # 348 donated by David Sneider and Naomi Pollock Family. Located: Khchass Village, Khchass Commune, Saut Nikum District and Siem Reap Province.

Kanha is the first child in the family, with two younger brothers and sister. Her family have no land and money to build the house so their stay with grandmother. Her parents are farmer but no farmland for transplanting rice. Her parents have to work as a builder that so far from home at the city and got $3 per day and it’s someday only so still not enough for support the kinds to school and food for every day. Sometime her parents asked her to stop and help to earn money but she loves to study and come to school every day. Kanha is a good and smart student. After school, she goes home to help her parents with house work. In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school and help mother to cook meal for her family and look after her brother.

 Kanha wants to be a teacher when she grows up. She wants to help all the kids to come up in the future and the most she wants to earn money to support her family to be better in the future.
