Tho Da Nert is 9 years old and she is a student in 3rd grade at the Sunnyside in Prasat village, Tong Rong commune, Prey Chhor district, Kompong Cham province.
She is the first child in the family and her mother has just only her. Her mother was divorced with her father since she was young and now her mother became a widow who feeds her daughter. Her mother works of for villagers to make more income to support family. She goes to works as a farm worker and gets around $6 in per day when the farming is ended but the income is not enough for support their family. Now she and her mother are living with her grandparents. They are living in a poor family and sometime her grandparents don’t have the money to buy food.
After school, she helps her grandparents of doing housework and helping at the rice field.
She wants to be a midwife because she would like to help the lady in her village to give the born with a safety and help her family to live in a better life.
