Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Thoeun Sreya is 9 years old and she is a minority tribe. She is studying in grade 3rd at The Mr. and Mrs. Sak Nhep School and she lives in Chorng Ra Village Batang Commune, Lumphat District Ratanakiri Province.

There are four members in the family, parents, one brother and her. Thoeun Steya is the first child in her family and she has got one little brother. Her dad is farmer and he has got one small home with the land width 10m and length 20m. He has own farmland is about one hectare for growing vegetables and rice. He sometimes goes to work near his home as a construction worker and he $5 in per day. Her mum is a farmer and she goes to her farmland and look after her vegetable after finish from the farmland she stay at and looks after her little son.

Thoeun Sreya is a good student and she always get a high score in class and everyone at school knows her well and she always goes to school by walk because her home is about one kilometer from school.  After school she helps her mum to do house work.

In the future, she wants to be a teacher because she likes teaching and she can share her knowledge to the kids in her village and she thinks learning is very important to reduce poverty and develop local human resources.

Additionally, she wants to help her brother and her parent to for more comfortable life.
