In Their Own Words
| On the new building: | “I like the new building because it is good for the village. It helps the villagers to get an education. I was afraid to go to school in the old building because I was afraid that it would collapse.”
| On her family: | “My mother passed away while giving birth and my father went insane. Both have been dead a long time. Now I live with my two sisters. One is older, the other is younger. My brother is in middle school. None of my relatives has ever finished middle school.”
| On her free time: | “When I am not in school, I take care of my younger sister, feed our pigs, and cook.”
| If I could go anywhere…: | “I would go to Angkor Wat because it is a very famous place.”
| If I could do anything…: | “I would read books. I enjoy reading but we do not have enough to read.” |
