Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kun Sreyleak is a 12-year-old student in 6th Grade at Prasat Primary School, located at Prasat village, Prasat commune, Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province.

Kun Sreyleak has nine siblings. She has five sisters and three brothers. She is the eighth child in the family. Her father’s name is Kun Yon. He’s 52 years old. He is a seasonal farming worker. He could earn about under $5.00 per day. Her mother’s name is Nuon Khim. She’s 50. She is a house wife. Her parents don’t have their own home. Kun Sreyleak’s father wants her to finish her studies and get a job for herself. He has not enough income to support his children. He hopes his daughter could finish her study. He will encourage her to study more. Kun Sreyleak goes to school by bike with her brother. She helps her parents’ housework and does some homework from school.

She commits to study and wants to be a teacher in the future.
