Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Mesa is a 14-year-old and she is a student in Grade 7 at the Romdos Sre’s School in Romdos Sre commune, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province.

Mesa has one brother and one sister and she is the youngest child in the family. Her father’s name is Yam and her mother’s name is Yeoun and they are farmers. Mesa’s family has owns half hectare of farmland that can produce 500kg of rice per year and they are keeping for daily eating in a whole year, which is not enough to support the family for long. Mesa’s father works as a construction worker, earning $5 in a day during the dry season, and works as a farmer in his rice field during the rainy season. Mesa is responsible to help her parents in the rice field among various other household chores.

She is a good student and she always gets a high score in class and after school she takes care her sibling. When she has free time she likes to read the books and do exercise.

In the future, she wants to be a manager because she has many ideas of creating the business and she loves this skill.
