Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Lorn Sreinit

Sreinit is 14 years old and she is a student in grade 8 at The Green Family School in Takeo province, Kirivong district, Angbrasat commune, Angbrasat village.

There are five members in her family. She has got two parents, two brothers and her. She is oldest child in her family. Her family is poor, they are farmers and they have one hectare, which can produce about 1,500-2,500 kg of rice per year and they had sold for 1000kg of rice and get 250$ for buy everyday food and keep some rice for daily eating in a whole year. However this is only the ideal output because they need to barter for fertilizer and other expenditures during the farming process. Her parents have not enough money to support school supplies for her. Sreinit always rides an old bicycle to school and comes back. After school she helps her mother to do housework and takes care her younger brothers every day after school and days off.

Sreinit wants to a teacher when she grows up. She loves the position very much. Moreover, she would likes to teach all the students in the rural villages to have higher knowledge to become center-row of the nation and also progress the nation towards perfect human resource. Furthermore, Sreinit would loves to earn money to support her family in the future when she is going to succeed in her aspiration.
