Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Sin is 16 years old the student in 9th grade at The ASIJ School in Chup Krom village, Svay Leu commune, Svay Leu district, Siem Reap province.

Sin is the first child in the family, with one younger brother and one younger sister. Her parents were divorced since she was 9 years old. When she was 13 years old her father passed away. Now she lives with her mother that always sick. Her mother is farmer who own 0.40 hectares of farmland for transplanting rice. And their farmland depends on natural raining only. Her mother can gathering 15 sacks of rice’s production and a quantity of one sack of rice is about 70-80 Kilogram. After gathering rice is completely finished her mother grows bit vegetable around home to get more money to support her family. Sin is a good student who pays attention to learn, try hard to study and she gets good rank. After school, she goes home to help her mother with house work. In her free time, she likes to read the books and review the lessons from school and help mother to cook meal and take care of vegetables for her family. The most she loves is every evening she always teaches her younger brother and sister.

Sin wants to be a good teacher when she grows up because she loves teaching young children and would loves to earn money to support her mother.
