Grossman School

(October, 2001)

Rim Thet is a 15-year-old fourth grade student at the Eric Ratanak Grady Grossman School. Her parents are farmers and she lives 1 km from the school.

In Their Own Words. . .

On school subjects: “I study mathematics more because I am strong in it.  I am also good at literature because I read Khmer stories and legends often.”

On her hobbies: “I like chatting with my friends and watching TV.”

On her future: “I would like to go to university, but that depends on the ability of my parents to pay.  When I grow up I want to be a teacher.  I understand that my village lacks enough teachers to teach all the children in the village.  The most important thing is to provide children with knowledge and get rid of illiteracy.”

Message for the donors: “I would like to thank George and Kari Grady Grossman for building the new school for my brothers and sisters, my friends in the village and me to study in.”
