The George Mrus School

 (October, 2001)

Mrs. Pouch Sokha is a farmer who lives next to the school.  She has one hectare of rice fields and seven children, two of whom study at the George Mrus School.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “Earlier, there was no school in the village.  Now we have a concrete building so I am very happy.  My children can get an education and then they will find good jobs like being teachers or doctors and so the life of my family will improve.  In my generation, there was no school in my village, so I am illiterate.  My life is difficult now.”

Message for Dave Mrus: “I would like to thank Dave Mrus for building a new school for my children and the other children in the village.  I wish him good health and longevity.  I hope that he can visit the school so that I can meet him face to face.”
