The Kompong Chamlong

Nippon Foundation School

Mr. Un Sokhom is a villager near the Kompong Chamlong Nippon Foundation School.

On himself: I am thirty-eight years old. My daughter is a fourth grade student at the [Kompong Chamlong Nippon Foundation School]. I only moved to this village three years ago, from Tram Kok district in Takeo province. This is a new village. The people here have just started living in this area. We met with some difficulties at the beginning, but I expected that our living condition will eventually improve. I have two and a half hectares of land, and last year I grew soybeans. This year, I will switch to rice, because it is a bit late to grow soybeans now.

On the new building:

I think that this new school building has provided knowledge to the children that needed it most. With better knowledge they can make more money and improve their family living.
