The Phnom Rey Nippon

Foundation School

Chhom Chiv is a 13-year-old, second grade student at the Phnom Rey Nippon Foundation School.
Out of the 25 students in his class, he was ranked 10th

On himself:

I have one sister and one brother. My sister goes to school with me, but my brother is still too young to visit school. I am the oldest child in my family. My parents are both farmers. Our house is right by the school.

On the new building:

It’s great. At the old school, because of the thatched roof, the rain would come into the class and make us all wet. And there was never enough desks or benches to sit on.

Favorite subject:

I like Khmer the most.

On his spare time:

I help my parents farm. I cut the grass, plant rice, and go to get water.

In the future:

I want to be a teacher and teach the next generation.

If he could travel anywhere:

I would go to Siem Reap to see the Angkor temples.
