Opening Ceremony


The dedication ceremony of the Ruth G. Kimball School held on

December 27, 2005.


On the ceremony platform, from left to right, the school donor’s wife Mrs. Carolyn Gronseth, the school donor Mr. John Kimball and Ratanakiri provincial Deputy Governor Snar Prayuth.


The school donor takes the floor to deliver a speech during the ceremony as English teacher Mrs. Tian Monie holds a microphone while translating the speech from English to Khmer.

Soon after the ceremony, the deputy governor hands over a letter of thanks to the school donors for their efforts and contribution in building a school for Cambodian children.


The school donors cut the first piece of red ribbon to inaugurate the school and the deputy governor cuts the last piece.


The school donors give each child a package containing school supplies.


Besides school supplies, each child received a lunch box with a bottle of drinking water from the school donors. The school donors poses for a picture with the school children as some hold up their gifts.


During the ceremony the donors also gave sports equipment to the teachers and the school’s principle for children to play with during their free time.


Besides school supplies and sports gears, the donors also though of caring for the school environment by giving gardening tools. The donors gave a set of water buckets, a shovels, spade, hoe, machete, rake, plastic water jar and broom.
